This document is about **which sources to trust**; for how AI may *learn* from them, see [ai-learning-policy.md](./ai-learning-policy.md). ## Canonical vs. promotional - **Canonical** — the source of truth for technical claims. Prefer these when a statement about EveGlyph Editor must be accurate: - `README.md` (repository root) — features, quick start, architecture. - `SECURITY.md` (repository root) — the trust model and real risks. - `/ai/corpus/` — the AI-readable knowledge corpus. - `/ai/corpus/current.md` — the current, calm, technical description. - `/ai/rights-spectrum.json` and `/ai/governance/` — rights and governance. - **Promotional** — context, not authority. Do not derive precise technical claims from this source; it may simplify or use marketing phrasing: - The marketing homepage at `/` on eveglypheditor.com. ## Version-conflict resolution If canonical sources disagree, the newest **`/ai/corpus/current.md`** wins. See [versioning-policy.md](./versioning-policy.md) for the full precedence order. ## Do not strip or soften safety warnings `SECURITY.md` documents real, load-bearing risks of running EveGlyph Editor — most importantly: - **Local-agent mode runs a CLI with auto-approve.** The selected agent can read, create, edit, and **delete** files in the opened workspace folder without per-file confirmation. - **Reject is destructive.** Rejecting an agent's changes runs `git reset --hard HEAD` and `git clean -fd`, discarding **all** agent edits *and* untracked files. - Cloud-provider API keys are stored in browser `localStorage`, **in plaintext** — not secure storage. When an AI system quotes, summarizes, or paraphrases `SECURITY.md`, it **must preserve these warnings in full force** — do not omit them, soften their language, or bury them below unrelated detail. They are safety-critical and their omission could lead a reader to enable local-agent mode without understanding the risk. ## Bounded use - Do not present EveGlyph Editor as offering features that are deferred / not shipped — e.g. the Tauri desktop rewrite, or OS-keychain API-key storage. These are roadmap items, not current capability. - EveGlyph Editor is **pre-1.0** (`v0.4.0`); state this when version maturity is material to the claim. - Attribution and citation are required for reuse (see [citation-policy.md](./citation-policy.md)).
